Playing around with Tie The Knot

My baby brother is getting married. (Anyone who knows him is probably thinking “It’s about time!” )

I decided to make some simple favors using my Cricut, to show his fiancee that you don’t have to necessarily go out and buy favors… So now they will be deciding which they want. 🙂 All have deep red accents, to match her theme. Here are the ones I made, with my daughter Sierra’s help (which was much needed, considering I’m recovering from surgery! More on that in another posting.) All were made using the Tie the Knot cartridge on my Cricut Expression.

Favor #1: A box styled like a piece of cake. These would look great displayed on the table put together to form a full cake, letting everyone take one slice. (Embossing was done lightly on lid only using Fiscars Texture Plates.)

Favor #2: This box is shaped like a wedding dress. There is also a tuxedo styled box to match, which I did not have time to make. (Embossing was done using Cuttlebug.)

Favor #3: This is a heart favor box. I have seen quite a few fellow Cricut fans out there making these, but they seemed to be assembled wrong! Most people are only slipping the sides over one half of the heart making it incomplete. The proper way was the fit the entire heart through the slits. This one is probably the easiest, considering it does not need any adhesive! (Embossing was done lightly using Fiscars Texture Plates.)

  • Helena,

The wedding dress shaped box is actually a cut on the Tie The Knot Cricut cartridge. No template other than that is needed.
