This week I am featuring my HTML and page making help site: Lyn’s Resource Center!
This site was originally started back when I was a GeoCities Community Leader (CL). Basically, I had a homepage there, and had a real good handle on HTML and making graphics. I was accepted into a volunteer system where we helped members and also scanned sites in our “Neighborhood” (Hollywood in my case) for bad/illegal content. GeoCities later got bought by Yahoo, who took over the program, retitled “Yahoo GeoCities”. As I got asked the same help questions over and over, Lyn’s Resource Center was born! I even got promoted as top CL in my neighborhood, called a Liason, and communicated directly with Yahoo employees on behalf of my neighborhood. The CL program continued on a while, and eventually closed up. Now, the entire Yahoo GeoCities program is being discontinued as of October 2009. (No more free homepages!)
The site is now moved to my own domain and hosting. While GeoCities specific help has since been removed, the site still can help someone starting out with HTML make their very first page!
