Cancer Awareness: Becky’s Story

I have one more cancer story to share with you, from Becky:

“I am a 55 year old married mom of 3, 2 daughters both BRCA 2+ and a son who has also tested positive. I also have 3 grand kids ages 7,5 and 3. I was dx in September of 2009 with stage 3C Fallopian cancer. I underwent chemo with carbo\tax. First re occurrence July 2011 chemo was carbo / caelyx which went on til march of 2012. Second re occurrence was march 2013, carbo/ gem til October 2013. In March of this year, my disease re-occurred yet again and way to soon for more chemo. This was the opinion of my gyne/onc whom I trust completely. So, into a clinical trial I went. It’s a PARP inhibitor, called Rucaparib and so far it is working amazingly well. Alot of my nodes have reduced in size and the teeny ones at 1mm or less are deemed as stable. I have just had the best summer iin a long time with my family, camping and canoeing, visiting local farms, picking fruits and veggies and canning. Cancer may own the bus, but for now, I am the survivor and today has been a great day.”
