My mother-in-law is back in the hospital. It does not look good…she was vomiting blood and bile.

Rewind a bit…

She saw the oncologist, and they sent her for a CT scan. Basically, at this point, her treatment plan all will depend on whether the cancer has spread to her lungs. If it has, she will only be undergoing a special chemo just to keep her bile ducts and stent from clogging. This will be intended as a comfort measure only. If the cancer has not spread to her lungs, they will be attempting to remove the affected area of the pancreas to buy her some more time. Since the test was done on Friday, we are still waiting on the results.

Fast forward back to now…

So we’re not sure how everything is going to play out. She’s in the ICU, with the blood from her stomach being pumped out through her nose. I’m sure if she pulls through this that her plastic stent in her bile ducts will need to be replaced, again, this time with metal. She had already been scheduled for that originally for this coming Monday (tomorrow). That’s most likely canceled while they get her stable.
